Most of the items in my home are found. Garage sales, thrift stores and estate sales have furnished and outfitted most of our home.
I want to bring things into my home that are useful, beautiful and well-made. I want to feel as if they have been, and will be, around for a while.
In an era of the disposable and mass-produced, I am attempting to make a different choice when I can.
Not everything I bring into my home is useful. Somethings are just beautiful ( I love blue).
I know from spending time at MAV’s home that she also outfits her home with great care and thought. It was with this shared commitment to keeping things simple, beautiful and sustainable (along with, let’s face it, the thrill of the hunt) that MAV and I decided it would be fun to offer some of our finds to you.
Along with our personal collections at by3191 (which launches a week from today on May 18th!), we will be offering a collection of items that we found in each of our Portlands. Our Found Collection will feature useful and beautiful vintage objects for the home. MAV and I selected items that we would want in our own kitchens, dining and living rooms to share with you. We are very excited by this new addition to the shop and hope you will be as well!
